Todd Schlopy is a film guru from Buffalo, NY. A graduate of The University of Michigan in Film Studies, Todd was 2-Time Academic Big Ten as a member of the Michigan football team. He followed football to the NFL, where he earned training camp spots with the Seattle Seahawks and Buffalo Bills and a spent a season on the active roster of the Buffalo Bills. He also competed internationally in alpine skiing as a graduate of the National Sports Academy in Lake Placid, NY.
Todd continued chasing his passion for film and has been an IATSE Local 600 Member 1996. He is now regarded as one of the premiere ACs and Camera Operators in the industry. His film credits include titles such as Starship Troopers, Transformers, Iron Man 3, Crash, Swordfish, Wanted, Air Force One, Hollow Man, Seabiscuit and Furious 7.
Recent film credits include The Revanant, Ride Along 2, CHiPs (2016), Furious 7 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016).
Todd now calls the mountains of Park City home. He founded Rotate Film Group, along with Josh Finbow and his son Alex Schlopy, in 2011.
Alex Schlopy grew up in the extreme mountains of the Wasatch Front in Park City, UT. He chased a passion for skiing and a competitive drive into freeskiing. In 2010/2011 he tore through the circuit, taking 1st Place in Slopestyle at the Snowbasin Dew Tour, 1st Place in Slopestyle at the World Championships in Park City, UT, 1st Place in Big Air at Winter X Games 15, 3rd Place in Dew Tour overall slopestyle standings and 4th Place in Slopestyle at Killington Dew Tour. He followed up this success in the 2013/2014 season with a 1st Place at the Grand Prix Park City. Recently, Alex took home the top spot at the Hella Big Air competion at Mt. Bachelor.
Schlopy has also appeared in several action sports films for action sports film powerhouses like Matchstick Productions and Poor Boyz Productions.
Alex brings a unique perspective, combined with an unparalleled skill set to Rotate. From stunts to event and brand modelling, skiing and an invaluable eye for safety while pushing filming boundries, Schlopy helps facilitate Rotate's most extreme shoots.
Josh Finbow grew up in the mountains of Crested Butte, CO, competitively skiing and gaining a deep understanding of action sports. This quickly lead to a passion for film making, and before turning 18 Josh completed a production internship and gained full time employment with Matchstick Productions (a multi-award winning outdoor and sports filmmaking company). There he learned the latest high-end techniques in action, high speed, and aerial cinematography, all while facing the harshest of climates and conditions - while also learning all facets of the post production process.
Josh went on to launch his own production business and continued on to establish multiple client relationships - excelling in producing and directing video content from start to finish with a new level of quality, affordability, and efficiency. He worked with these companies to align and update their marketing strategies, design, distribution, and social media to fit the ever changing trends. Josh worked closely with clients such as Monster Energy Drink, the Rossignol Group, Redbull, etc. producing new unique content that lead to a positive upturn in viewership and campaign execution.
Since then, Josh has traveled the world, mastering his skills in cinematography and editing. He has worked for and managed many productions spanning across multiple genres including music videos, television, documentaries, features, commercials, etc.
Galen Murray grew up in Missoula, MT. He found a love for the outdoors and action sports ski racing and coaching from an early age all the way through college, where he spent 3 years as captain of the University of Montana Alpine Ski Team.
At The University of Montana, he majored in Broadcast Journalism, with a minor in Media Arts and a certificate in Entertainment Management, while honing his skills with KPAX (the local CBS station), Warm Springs Productions, Town Square Media and Freelance work on his own projects, as well as various roles in PBS publications.
Galen has never shyed from hard work, especially in pursuit of his career in film production and photography. He saw an opportunity to combine his passions for Film and Action Sports when he moved Crested Butte, CO to work with Two Plank Productions, where he honed and expanded his skills in producing, editing, cinematography, social media marketing and photography.
Galen is relentless in his pursuit of learning. He brought his unique skill set to Park City to work with Todd Schlopy and Josh Finbow at Rotate Film Group.
